Aquaculture

Saudi Fisheries Company is one of the first companies operating in this field in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The company established the shrimp farm in Al-Huraida Governorate on the Red Sea coast in 1993 which includes 108 troughs with a production capacity of 1743 tons per year. Has been implementing an extension of the shrimp farm by adding 70 landfills with a production capacity of 1257 tons per year. The total capacity of the shrimp farms will be 3000 tons per year, which can be developed to reach 6000 tons annually. The company also implemented the project of floating cages for fish farming in 2013 with a production capacity of 611 tons per year, which can be expanded to reach 18 cages of 60 m 2 and the project is still being implemented. In 1990, the company established a fish farm in the province of Qatif specialized in the production of tilapia with a capacity of 300 tons per year

Fishing

17 The company owns and operates a fleet of licensed fishing vessels equipped with the latest technology of navigation, techniques and tools. The company’s fleet consists of 17 medium size fishing vessels with a capacity of 20 tons and a length of 19 meters, in addition to 15 small fishing vessels with a capacity of 1.5 tons and a length of 9 meters. Our fleet in Jazan Port is mainly located in the Red Sea, Jubail Port and Qatif Port as a starting point for fishing in the Arabian Gulf. We work through the marine fishing sector to optimize the exploitation of marine natural resources and to enhance their contribution to the volume and level of production at the company level, in full compliance with the standards and regulations for the conservation and development of marine life.

Commercial Sector

One of the main sectors to achieve strong trends in the local market, as well as support and development of sales and marketing mechanisms beyond the local scope to export to the outside, the business sector on a number of axes:

  • Retail sales: Through a number of fish-owned and geographically distributed stores in a number of regions in the Kingdom, fish are increasing  attendance and geographical coverage of sales growth and increasing market share, as well as launching a number of modern sales channels through smart phone applications. The company offers a range of fresh products prepared daily from fish auctions in different parts of the Kingdom and the proceeds of fishing for its boats that roam the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf every day to provide a remarkable variety of marine products under one roof.
  • Wholesale Sales: The company is engaged in a growing number of marine food products with more than seventy varieties of fresh and frozen products and products manufactured from various local and imported sources to offer our customers in multiple sectors a diverse mix of sea products to suit their requirements and needs and the quality they expect. We work in fish to meet the demands of consumers of seafood products from restaurants, hospitals, catering, accommodation and food manufacturers from various sources, relying on our supply chain capabilities, accumulated team experience and the quality of products we deal with.
  • Specialized Restaurants: The company manages a number of restaurants specializing in seafood. At the same time, we are developing the experience and entering into alliances with local and international specialized chains to transfer experience and develop products to promote a healthy eating culture in the Kingdom and increase the individual consumption of seafood for its nutritional value. Manufacturing

Of the most important sectors that contribute mainly to raising the efficiency of investment in the field of fisheries by manufacturing various types of marine food products as well as the latest equipment storage, storage and transportation required by the company to deliver the product to the full quality to the client.

The Saudi Fish Company has a number of factories and laboratories distributed between Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Jizan. It is equipped with a high level of manufacturing technology and is ISO certified in quality. These factories are classified according to the following industries:

 

  • Value-added products factories: Fish have specialized plants in marine food products, where sorting, cleaning and chopping of fish as well as preservation, cooking and packing are carried out within laboratories that are subject to the highest standards of quality and health control, and produce about twelve different food products. The company is working on alliances with companies specializing in food processing to increase its product base and develop its nutritional specifications.
  • Supporting Products Factories: As production has increased, there has been a need to establish factories and laboratories to support simple production processes such as manufacturing of storage and packaging supplies, ice production and freezing mechanisms. The company also owns a polystyrene plant to manufacture product storage boxes and facilitate safe transport to the farthest distribution points.
